Giving back to the community
Our community volunteers are proactive in giving to others in need. Some of our key initiatives are described below:
Easter egg collections
The Bhagwan Valmik Sabha initiated a charity fundraising drive to donate Easter Eggs to the Children Wing at Bedford Hospital. During this period, the Valmiki Community gave very generously and we were able to donate many Easter eggs to the Children’s Wards, for which all were very grateful. We look forward to working with Bedford Hospital in the future.
Covid-19
During the Covid-19 crisis, the Bhagwan Valmik Sabha worked closely with ACCM Bedford, assisting the vulnerable and elderly in and around Bedford by delivering food parcels. This charity drive still continues today and will carry on until the UK Government deem it safe.
Disaster relief appeals
The Bhagwan Valmik Sabha have raised most recently money for disaster relief in the 2016 Amatrice Earthquake appeal in 2016, the Beirut disaster in 2020 and the Indian Covid-19 relief in 2021. Where we can, the Bhagwan Valmik Sabha will work to relieve poverty, sickness and distress in any part of the world.
